Your Path to Success

The B1 German course in Frankfurt consists of two sequential modules: Each module is carefully structured to provide you with the knowledge needed to express yourself confidently and fluently in German.

Module B1.1: Fine-Tuning Language Skills

In Module B1.1 of the B1 German course in Frankfurt, we focus on consolidating and deepening basic grammatical structures:

  • Präteritum: Application in narratives and reports.
  • That-Clauses: Forming complex sentences with subordinate clauses.
  • Infinitive Clauses: Using infinitive constructions.
  • Pronominal Adverbs: Enhancing sentence flow with “da-,” “wo-,” “hier-,” and “daran.”
  • Modal Verbs and Substitutes: Alternatives and enriched expressions.
  • Konjunktiv II: Hypothetical statements in various contexts.
  • Declarative Sentences: Deepening all important types of declarative sentences.

The main goal of this module is to stabilize sentence structure and, through numerous automation exercises, develop the ability to formulate correct sentences fluently and spontaneously. In reading and listening comprehension, typical task formats are addressed, and relevant topics for young adults such as health, media, transportation, and society are covered.

In text production, the focus is on summaries and discussions (argumentations). You will learn how to weigh pros and cons and express and justify opinions or solutions. In oral communication, you will practice summarizing texts, experiences, wishes, or events, and expressing and justifying opinions and plans.

Module B1.2 – Deepening and Expansion

ImIn Module B1.2, we make significant progress in grammar and focus on scientific language structures:

  • Nominalization and Verbalization: If time permits, treatment of these advanced topics.
  • Active and Passive Sentences: Formation in present tense, all past tenses, future, and Konjunktiv II. This includes transforming active into passive sentences and forming impersonal passive sentences.
  • Relative Clauses: Review and deepening.
  • Adjective Declension: Expanding knowledge about adjective use.
  • Participles as Adjectives: Using and transforming relative clauses into participial attributes.

In oral production, you will learn to conduct discussions, agree, disagree, summarize longer statements, and describe complex processes and pictures orally.

In reading and listening comprehension, more complex task formats will be introduced, and longer and more challenging texts will be dealt with. The focus in text production will be on writing detailed essays and discussions as well as describing objects, events, and processes.
